The Royal Marsden Cancer Centre
The Royal Marsden is a world-leading cancer centre specializing in cancer diagnosis, treatment, research and education. Counting its locations in London and Surrey, and through its partnership with The Institute of Cancer Research, The Royal Marsden is one of the biggest and most comprehensive cancer centres in Europe, with a combined staff of 3,500.
The Royal Marsden was founded in 1851 by William Marsden with a vision to create a pioneering cancer hospital dedicated to excellence in the study, treatment and care of people with cancer. It continues to build on this legacy, constantly raising standards to improve the lives of the 40,000 cancer patients from across the UK and abroad that are seen each year.
In the recently added CyberKnife Radiotherapy Suite in the London facility, leading-edge technology is used to treat cancer as well as to calm patients. The CyberKnife is one of the most sophisticated robotic radiotherapy tools in the world, allowing doctors to precisely target tumors in locations difficult to reach otherwise. The beautiful Circular Luminous SkyCeiling brings the relaxing and healing properties of nature into the treatment area, helping to alleviate stress during treatment.

To alleviate any concern, Elmo in this photo is not a patient at The Royal Marsden, but is there to greet young patients who are receiving radiotherapy treatment.
