Kurahashi Dental Clinic Designed for Patient Wellness

Japanese dental health clinic in Akashi City features a beautiful Luminous SkyCeiling.

The Kurahashi Dental Clinic in Akashi City, Japan, installed a 4’ X 10’ (1.2m X 3m) Luminous SkyCeiling in the main reception. The virtual skylight’s view to a wide open blue sky opens up the interior and enhances the modern office décor.

A mustard yellow, modular sofa in the middle of the room greets patients as they reach the reception and experience the skylight’s welcoming depth illusion.

The clinic’s calm and pleasant environment sets the right mood for diagnosis and treatment, allowing patients and their families to feel protected. The clinic has also placed a 24/7 ventilation system that replaces the entire clinic’s indoor air within two hours. The system is outfitted with filters that remove atmospheric PM2.5 (particulate matter with a diameter of less than 2.5 micrometers) to insure clean and safe indoor air.

Tsutomu Kurahashi, founder of this dental health clinic in Akashi City, belongs to the Bio-resonance Medical Society and the Next Generation Preventative Medical Society. Dr. Kurahashi emphasizes that oral hygiene impacts our circulatory and cardiovascular systems.

The bacteria that infect the gums and cause gingivitis and periodontitis also travel to blood vessels elsewhere in the body where they can cause blood vessel inflammation and damage.1 Therefore, oral hygiene is the first line of defense in protecting the body from more serious long-term disease.

His practice and philosophy are inspired by the ancient character for medicine, which sought to restore balance in the patient’s body and mind. With that ideal in mind, the new Kurahashi clinic was designed to provide an optimal environment for healing and a meaningful connection to nature.

For more than 30 years, the Riona Kurahashi Dental Clinic in Akashi City, in Southern Japan, has always sought to integrate dental care within the larger scope of holistic and preventative medicine.
